concept test survey
out of all the respondents that were given the survey, most of them had said that they had dealt with a heat related illness in the past. the ones who did say they have experienced it had said that it either happened during a sporting event or at their job during the summer months. one of the respondents said that they sometimes wrap their neck with a moist towel to beat the heat. another person said that they just place ice packs on their body to stay cool
Poster Walk
After showing our Final sketch to our classmates, a couple of common questions arose. one of the concerns was if the vest would constrict movement because of the possible increased weight due to the water being sprayed. another concern was if the vest's water pump would actually be able to keep the water from heating up, and if the water that was already sprayed would eventually loose its coldness. But overall our classmates thought our design was a good idea and some even thought it would help them during their daily lives.

winning design
Our Final Design consists of a lightweight vest that has a manual water pump. Plastic tubes are connected to the water pump and are placed throughout the vest. at the end of the tubes are misting tips that allow the water to be sprayed evenly across the surface of the vest. the cool water being sprayed will allow the consumer to stay cool throughout the day. once the small amount of water evaporates, it can be replenished by pumping/ spraying more from the container.
